ELAGABALUS, (A.D. 218-222), AE sestertius, undated issue Rome mint, obv. IM[P CAES M] AVR ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, laureate horned bust draped and cuirassed to right, rev. [S C] across field, Elagabalus standing to left holding patera over lighted altar and club in left hand, around [INVI]CTV[S SACERDOS AV]G, (cf.S.2131A, RIC 350, C.64). Nearly fine/good and very rare.

Sestertii of Elagabalus are always rare, this series of issues with all variants is according to Banti known by only six published examples in Museums and auctions.
