JULIA DOMNA, wife of Septimius Severus, (A.D.193-217), AE As or dupondius, issue struck at Rome 196-211, (11.90 grams), obv. IVLIA AVGVSTA, bust draped to right, rev. around HILARITAS, S C in field, Hilaritas standing to left, holding long palm and cornucopiae, (cf.S.1855, RIC 877, C.74). Attractive portrait, legend weak on reverse, otherwise very fine and rare.
