PARTHIA, Kingdom of, Orodes I, (90-77 B.C.) silver drachm, (3.75 grams), Rhagae mint, obv. small head, large full size bust wearing a tiara to left with short beard, dotted border, rev. archer seated right on throne, seven line inscription, (cf.S.7389, Sellwood 31.6, Shore 124 [this coin]). Good very fine/very fine, light encrustation on the reverse, very scarce with this bust.
Ex. Shore Collection, Classical Numismatic Group New York auction, December 5, 1995 (lot 124). $$ Shore discusses this coin and notes that it is quite unusual to see the bottom part of the bust and beading.
