PARTHIA, Kingdom of, Mithradates II, (123-88 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.19 grams), Rhagae mint, obv. medium size bare-headed bust to left with long beard, wearing diadem, rev. archer seated right on throne, five line inscription, (S.7371, Sellwood 27.1, Shore 85). Attractive, extremely fine and scarce.

Ex. Antiquarius New Zealand, November 21, 1984, by private purchase. This is the first use of the title 'King of kings' on Parthian coins.
