RENFREWSHIRE POLITICAL UNION, inst. 3rd December 1830, in white metal (42mm) by W.M., obv. Fasces without axe, within open wreath with legend around, rev. shield on scales, sword and cornucopia with rays, inscribed and with legend around (BHM 1640). Pierced at top, very fine.

Political unions were formed to give support for parliamentary reform and later to carry the Reform Bill.
