SOUTHERN BRITAIN, uninscribed issue, Atrebates tribal issues, Westerham type, (c.75-60 B.C.), base gold stater, reduced weight type of coinage of Abstracted style, (5.88 grams), obv. Abstracted head of Apollo to right, rev. Celticized disjointed horse to left, pellet below, (S.19, Van A. 202-1 notes as rare, Mack 28). Very fine/good very fine and rare.

Ex. Spink Noble Numismatics sale 42 (lot 2702). The Atrebates occupied the territory that is today Essex, and counties to the west.
