COVENTRY, E.W. Percy's penny, 1801, bust of Holland/open book, by J. G. Hancock (D&H 44). Bronzed finish, baking defective resulting in 'pickling' or porosity, hardly noticeable but common to this variety (see T.A. Jan (part II) collection lot 100) dull chocolate brown nearly uncirculated and very rare, only 18 struck.

Purchased from Baldwin in 1979 (ticket Spink 5/12).
