TAMWORTH, John Hardings penny, 1799, by Hancock Tamworth Castle/Town Hall, ornate edge with doulbe line inscription (D&H 9) a proof struck in silver, die flaw or break above castle on obverse and numerous small hairline die breaks on the reverse radiating inwards. Beautifully toned, nearly FDC and excessively rare in silver.

Ex A.W. Jan Collection (Baldwin 15, lot 95). John Harding, calico printer and token collector, his collection purchased by Sir George Chetwynd.
