ANCIENT BRITISH, Celtic base gold stater, struck in Britain as an uninscribed issue of the Iceni, late Freckenham Type, (c.30 B.C.- A.D.10), (5.4 grams), obv. trefoil a cross, rev. horse to right spiral wheel above, (S.39; Van Arsdell 626.12). Very fine.

Ex. Strauss Collection. (lot 20) and Noble Numismatics Sale 50 (lot 2463). Van Arsdell dates this issue slightly earlier 45-40 B.C., although Seaby suggests the above date.
