AETHELRED II, (978-1016), silver penny, Helmet type, Canterbury mint, issued c.991-997, obv. radiate helmeted bust to left, rev. long cross voided with three crescents at each end over square with trefoil at each end, GO DAEG M-O STAN (Godaeg of Stamford), (S.1152, N.775, BMC viii). Round with reverse die deteriation, toned, nearly extremely fine.
