Lot 2598    Session 8 (2.30pm Wednesday)    Great Britain Silver & Bronze

Estimate $80
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $50

GREAT BRITAIN, Royal Mint trial die, 36mm, struck in matt bronze, undated, but probably early - mid 20th century, obv. around BRITANNIA MONETA, with seated figure of Britannia coining, rev. Mint buildings and legend THE ROYAL MINT LONDON. Extremely fine, very scarce.

This may have some association with a double florin, because of its size. The large trial coins are significantly scarcer than the smaller pieces.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
